Jessup sits about seven miles north of Scranton in Lackawanna County's Mid Valley, tucked between Olyphant and Archbald along the old anthracite seam. It is a small borough, just over 4,500 people across not quite seven square miles, and it reads as compact and settled rather than spread out.
