Much of Dallas Township filled in after the war, and the ranch houses and split-levels around Shavertown and Trucksville date from that build-out, with finished basements that became rec rooms and later home offices. Older homes closer to the borough centre go back to the 1879 incorporation. A lot of the Back Mountain still runs on well water rather than borough lines, and iron content leaves rust-coloured staining in tubs and sinks that needs a different approach than a normal bathroom clean.
